Steel Sahlute to Sharpening Steels!

That's the magic right there…..a knice vintage sharpening steel.

I just spent a few moments with some different grit stones to sharpen my vintage Empire 2 blade knife and my Cabela's Kershaw Mini Thermite.  A hair-popping edge was obtained as I completed 5 or 6 strokes up and down my vintage AL WILSON SYCAMORE ST. SHEFFIELD ENGLAND sharpening steel.

Make your life easy, head over to ebay and score one or two, or a lot. You'll be surprised how, after sharpening your pocket knife, this hunk of blackened metal will align the metallic edge to perfection!

Here's pics of a Lamson Sharpening Steel I purchased at an estate sale for $1.00.

I find these all the time.  Let me know if you want to be on the list to contact and when I score one I'll give you first dibs!

Sharpening steels and stropping the knife edge on an old leather belt are the best kept sharpening secrets in the pocket knife world!

Stay ready!
