I've had a love for photography since I was a young boy!!

And taking photographs/pictures of knives has added to my love.

I now am offering some of my knife pictures/photographs for sale.

If you have a particular brand of knife you collect, I'm sure I have a photograph

or 2 that could enhance the experience of your collection……especially the black & white picture of the Kershaw stuck in a dead tree!!

INDY HAMMERED KNIVES REVIEW

Hammered steel sahlute fellow knife friends!!

Straight up……..huge fan of the knife….the size, the feel, the process, the steel. Straight up HUGE FAN!!!!

I was contacted by the folks at Indy Hammered Knives , ended up selecting the custom knife kit.

I muffed up the wood scales sent in the kit (and actually wrapped on a paracord handle) until a friend offered

to place some walnut scales on it, since he thought he owed me a favor.  The knife turned out magically.

Scales are soooooooooooooooooooo waaaaaaaaaaaaay

better than I could've ever done. Thank you TONY!!!

I've been on the "watch" for a fixed blade knife that was what I might consider "pocket size". In other words, could be toted inside my front pocket.

While this IHK knife is just a little too big for that, it is , IMO absolutely perfect size for bushcraft, or woodcraft.

In addition to being razor sharp, made of 1095 carbon steel, it's nearly weightless. The grips fill the palm of my hand very naturally!

The size of the blade allows for almost complete use from tang to tip and it's spine is thick, right at 1/8" all the way to the tip.  Masterful

for making showers of sparks with your ferro rod for fire starting!!

I've also batoned wood with tis IHK knife and found it to be stellar for the chore.

Simply put, if you're looking for a high end custom knife without the high end, or even middle end price point, look no further!

You won't be dissappointed!!

Head to IHKNIVES.com and see what James has to offer!!

Hold up…….almost forgot.  This fixed blade knife comes with a beautiful dangle leather sheath!!

Stay outdoors, and share it with some kids!!

KERSHAW CAMP 10 Tan Review – BEAST!

Steel Sahlute fellow knife friends!

I love this machete….L-O-V-E it!!!

My boys love this machete camp knife.

It's being used over and over, and reached for (by me) ahead of my hatchets I carry!!!

HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE fan and I give it my highest recommendations!

There are 2 hiccups in my opinion!

1). The black matte finish comes off easily.

2). The snap used to hold the machete in it's sheath allows for immediate exiting when unsnapped.  Meaning there is no sheath tension to hold the knife in place.  You best be ready for the knife to exit the kydex sheath.

I've sharpened it once….amd we've put a hurtin' on 'er with use and whacking!

OH…….byw…..the spine has a stellar 90 degree angle and throws off showers of sparks when rubbed against a ferro rod, and makes wicked fatwood scrapings (fire dust)!!

Enjoy the outdoors….and take a kid with you!!

Hand Forged Knives by Indy Hammered Knives

by Scott Rauber on August 6th, 2018 at 6:22 pm

Last week I received an email asking if I'd consider reviewing one of the Indy Hammered Knives hand forged by James.

I replied via email, and called the following day and was fortunate enough to talk to James…the Smitty,
and creator of Indy Hammer Knives : https://ihknives.com/

I was offered any knife to review.

After talking with James for a bit he mentioned he sells knife kits…..just add the scales.

Would I be interested in trying a knife making kit?  I agreed.  The kit arrived today.

Stay tuned for the completed knife and more updates from IHK!!!!

Knife Review Kershaw Method

Kershaw Method Knife Review

Steel Sahlute knife lovers!

Another review comin’ atcha!

My method on testing and reviewing knives has changed slightly over the past couple years.  These days I try and be a little more abusive to the knife in review in order to see if it’ll SAY UNCLE!!

This Kershaw Method cut and sliced more cardboard than any other knife I’ve reviewed or used.  It took a proud beating in my opinion and held up with shoulders back and gut in!!

The pictures show proof.

I did carry it for a while.  It’s super duper lightweight.

The blackwash shiny finish is so sleek.  Made of 8Cr13MoV steel was difficult (for me) to put an edge on.  As shown in pic, I used all aspects to restore the edge.

The KVT ball bearing and built in flipper take some adjusting to become familiar with especially since I daily carry the Kershaw Zing (love that beast).

Limited to right-hand, tip up carry only, unless of course you don’t wish to carry it on your pocket lip, and just drop it in your pocket.  There is only one spot to hold the clip and at one point somehow it came loose! No worries, I have the Kershaw tool!!

Overall, it’s tough and light.  Might make a good backpack carry because of that.

My grandson likes it as well……he’s 8……I think I’ll give it to him!!!

Knowledge cures curiosity…..show kids knives!!
